About Us In 1984, David Grimes formed Groomers after many years of experience working and developing human shampoos and cosmetics. He was approached by a Veterinary Laboratory to develop a shampoo that could contain Pure Evening Primrose Oil, as Dr. Anderton had researched the benefits of using such pure oil for soothing sore and sensitive skin on dogs. Up until then, David had been developing shampoos for humans! After many months, David successfully formulated a shampoo to contain pure cold pressed evening primrose oil. Something that had never been achieved before! The shampoo was tried and tested in the market place with fantastic results and Groomers was born! David and his daughter Paula Bryan, a keen horse rider, started to sell dog shampoos via Mail Order and the product range quickly expanded to include everything from baths, clippers and combs to salon equipment, bedding and coats. Then in February 2003, David retired from Groomers and his interest was bought by Graham Searle. Today the company is directed by Graham and Paula, and since their amalgamation the company has rapidly expanded to become one of the leading suppliers of animal equipment. Paula, who has participated in most disciplines including Eventing, Showing and Dressage, has managed to combine her love of horses with her business and Groomers is now the one-stop-shop for all your equine needs too!
